 - President Bolsonaro's wife test positive for COVID-19.He only recovered from COVID-19 on July27.

-Brazil open its border for tourists arriving by plane. The rule does not apply to foreigners arriving by land or sea.

India

                      New deaths: 758                Total deaths: 38,161

- Bollywood renowned actor Amitabh Bachchan discharged from hospital after testing negative. He tested positive on July 12.

-Union Home minister Amit Shah tests positive for COVID-19.

Russia

-The Russian economy contracted by 9.5-10% in the second quarter, the Central Bank estimated.

-Moscow cinemas open from Aug 1. Moscow's cinemas were all closed at the end of March due to coronavirus pandemic. The numbers of visitors in the hall, however, must be 50% of the number of seats.

Mexico

-Mexico's president Lopez Obrador declared on Friday that he won't wear a mask until the country is free from corruption.

-GDP shrank 18.9% between April and June compared to the same period last year.

-Chile's government have approved a bill to allow its citizen to withdraw up to 10% from their retirement funds. This includes a direct payment bonus for the equivalent of about $630 to employed, unemployed, suspended or self-employed middle class people.(it could represent a future retirement crisis if those withdrawing don't pay back their loans by the time they retire.)

-204,926 tourists arrived in Spain in June. It is 97.7% less than in June,2019.(the state of alarm is ended in June in Spain).

Colombia

-Colombia's National Health Institute announced that the pandemic has gone out of control and is causing carnage.

-Capital is running out of capacity to cremate deceased COVID-19 patients.

Iran

-Data has been leaked from the government which shows almost 42,000 people died with COVID-19 up to 20 July. A BBC Persian service investigation has found the data from government's own records where the number of people infected is also almost double the official figures: 451,024 as opposed to 278,827

-Iran's economy has been hit by fall in oil prices, as well as the coronavirus crisis.
